Hello all,
We get a lot of questions about the cotton we use in our towels. As you know our towels are made from purely one remarkable fabric: Egyptian cotton. Other than all the great benefits of this cotton it is unbelievably soft.
This is mostly due to the uniquely long fibres that result in a velvety-soft feel and a much more durable fabric. Other benefits include:Â
-Naturally odor-resistant -Antibacterial properties -Super absorbent and fast-drying
Instead of short-lived softness that disappears after the first wash Casamera builds in softness from the get-go. By excluding all chemicals and relying on the supernatural ability of this cotton, our towels provide a natural softness that will last you years to come!
While most of the world’s cotton is machine harvested, Egypt has decidedly remained devoted to delicate handpicking.
Handpicking the cotton makes for a purer end product. This means there are less leaves, branches and seeds getting in the way of softness.
As much as manufacturers like to slap this label on everything, today only 0.5% of the world’s cotton is produced in Egypt.
Recent studies show that 90% of products with this label don't contain a single wisp of the fiber.
This in turn is hurting production and most of all the farmers who grow the crop. In 2016Â the agricultural production of long-staple Egyptian cotton- "White Gold" hit an almost 100-year low.
